at University of Minnesota Medical Center
For more than 40 years we have provided compassionate, expert, innovative care to blood and marrow transplant (BMT) patients. Our BMT Program is the oldest and one of the largest and most respected BMT research programs in the world. Patients come from across the country and around the globe to be treated at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. We have the largest umbilical cord blood transplant program in the world, treating more adults with cord blood therapy than any other center.
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program has been at the forefront of BMT advances since performing the world's first successful BMT in 1968. University of Minnesota Physicians have performed well over 5,000 BMTs since that time. Under the leadership Adult BMT Medical Director, Daniel Weisdorf, M.D., we provide evidence-based care driven by the ongoing research of our BMT faculty at University of Minnesota. We continually strive to improve the safety and effectiveness of transplant therapy, to provide our patients with the best possible outcomes.
